Co-worker Retirement Provision
Have you spent time as a co-worker in a Camphill Community in England for a few years or for a significant part of your life? If so, are you struggling to support yourself financially in your retirement? Do you have insufficient pension provision to fund your retirement as a consequence of such periods in Camphill? The Camphill Benevolent Fund (England) may be able to assist you.
The Camphill Benevolent Fund was set up in 2008 with the aim of providing discretionary financial support to co-workers that have spent time in a member Camphill Community. These are co-workers who may have dedicated a few years or a signifanct part of their life to the life of Camphill Communities on an unsalaried voluntary basis; they may not have had the possibility to build up a sufficient pernsion cover for themselves in retirement.
Support may be applied for in two ways: either by the community where the co-worker is still living; or alternatively by the co-worker personally who has moved on, retired and is living independently, whether in the UK or overseas.
At the point of first applicatin a (former) co-worker must be at least aged 65; he or she must have spent time in a member community for a minimum of two years.
The current member charities of the Benevolent Fund are:
Camphill Devon Community
Camphill Communities East Anglia
Camphill Milton Keynes Community
Mount Camphill Community
Pennine Camphill Community
Sheiling Trust, Ringwood
St. Luke's Trust
Camphill Communities Thornbury
William Morris (Camphill) CommunitiesA number of other Camphill retirement funds support (former) co-workers who have spent time in communities in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or the Camphill Village Trust. We are happy to put you in touch with these if appropriate.
