Camphill Families & Friends supports the Learning Disability CoalitionWelcome to Families & Friends of Camphill

FAMILIES & FRIENDS of Camphill is a registered charity which helps and supports individuals who wish to live in Camphill communities in England & Wales. We provide this support by involving families and friends so that they can help us in assisting individuals and communities.
We aim to give our members and supporters a forum through which to share information, experiences and raise awareness of the many current and crucial issues that concern us and those that we love and support. We do this mainly through our newsletter and regional meetings.

Newsletter
We keep in touch with members through our regular newsletter, this web page and Camphill Pages.

Regional Meetings
Our regional meetings are informal gatherings and we usually hold them at several Camphill communities twice a year. They allow families and friends of those who live in Camphill communities to meet and exchange views and ideas. We normally have a speaker on a topic of current interest.
Our last meeting,
at the Lantern Community, Ringwood, took the form of a discussion on the subject 'What is the Way Ahead for Camphill", led by Chris Cook, chairman of the Camphill Village Trust, Andy Paton, leader of the Camphill Social Work Team and Phil Gibson, Camphill Personalisation Project Manager.

Membership
Please join us in helping to ensure that Camphill communities continue to be among the choices available to people with learning disabilities and other special needs. The Camphill schools, colleges and adult communities are a valuable resource. Not only do they provide wonderful support for those with special needs, they also enrich the lives of their families too.
We want to reach as many people as possible and hope that you will join us.
Membership of Families & Friends of Camphill and inclusion on our mailing list is free. Because we are self-funding we do ask for a small donation of a minimum of £5 per person or £10 per family to help cover our administration costs.
If you have not already registered with us, but would like to do so, please contact us for our membership form.

Dilnot Commission submission

CAMPHILL Families & Friends urged the Dilnot Commission on the Future Funding of Care and Support to find a means of achieving portability of funding as well as portability of assessment. Both are essential to allow people with learning disabilities the human right to live in whichever local authority they wish, in the same way that everyone else does.
