Sheiling School Thornbury are seeking full time enthusiastic and committed Support Workers, Qualification at NVQ Level 1 or above preferred. Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour essential. Working in the Residential Children’s Homes in small family housing groups within a friendly and committed team. Salary £16,000 to £17,500 per annum, 42.5 hours a week, shift rotation, no nights, 8 weeks paid holiday which include Bank Holidays. Sheiling School in Thornbury, South Glos is a residential Camphill (Rudolf Steiner) School for children with learning difficulties aged 6 to 19 and is part of Camphill Communities Thornbury. Our beautiful grounds on the edge of the town encompass several residential houses for children and adults, a school building, indoor and outdoor craft workshops and a swimming pool. Adjacent is our farm, which provides organic produce for the community. The Sheiling School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of satisfactory references from previous employers and a DBS check at an Enhanced level, including the Barred list.

Camphill Communities, Thornbury, is a therapeutic environment for children and adults in need of special care aged 6 years and upwards to support and develop the potential of each individual. Set in 50 acres of beautiful farm and parkland, it is located, in Thornbury, near Bristol.

We are unable to consider applications from anyone under 18 years old, offer short-term holiday and work experience placements.
