Volunteer vacancies : Biodynamic Gardener Required - 664
Oaklands Park is a Camphill community that has Biodynamic agriculture as one of its fundamental pursuits. We are currently recruiting an experienced Biodynamic Gardener to join our land team. The position involves taking responsibility for our extensive areas of vegetable, top and soft fruit production and greenhouse growing. We grow produce predominantly for our community of approximately 100 people but also market and sell to a small box scheme and various other customers. As part of a Camphill setting the garden team consists of around 15 adults with special needs and volunteer support workers. The ongoing support of this team is imperative to the position along with general related administrative and infrastructural responsibilities. We are Demeter certified and our daily practice involves the stewarding of Biodynamic practices and preparations usage. Oaklands Park is also part of the Severn Valley Biodynamic Training Group and this entails the hands on practical and theoretical training of horticultural apprentices. As part of a life sharing community we are particularly interested in hearing from people, single or with a family, who would like to live in our community and share the experience of being vocational co-workers. Brief Community sketch
Oaklands Park is a 70 hectare rural village community with agriculture at its heart, situated between the Forest of Dean and River Severn. Some 100 people live here in 10 extended households. Our life very much centres itself around the work on the farm, the gardens, our households, the wood workshop and weavery. We have our own Waldorf Kindergarten and access to two Steiner Schools.
We are unable to consider applications from anyone under 18 years old, or offer short-term holiday and work experience placements.
