Residents joining process

Residents joining criteria

WITH ONLY eight places for supported residents, Gannicox is a small community and will only very infrequently have a vacancy for new supported residents. We do not keep a waiting list.

If you are interested in a potential placement you may be invited to make an initial informal visit to Gannicox Community . If you live nearby, it may be helpful to build an initial relationship through regular visits; in this way, a subsequent application will be based upon a clearer understanding of what joining Gannicox Community entails.

If or when there is a vacancy you will be sent copies of our joining procedure and of the joinging criteria together with a questionnaire which will give us an overview of your support needs and expectations. This will usually be followed by an invitation to stay at Gannicox for a a few days.

If the Gannicox CIC Management Team considers that your needs and expectations match our support possibilities, and that there is a good chance that a placement may be successful, we will encourage you to fill in and send us our formal application form together with any support needs assessments and support plans currently in place.

We will look at the whole picture again, also consulting with our current supported residents and with St. Luke's Trust in relation to accommodation and tenancies, and then decide on whether we can offer you a place at Gannicox. Joining the community will then be pending agreement and adequate funding by local authority commissioners.
